Design of a real building by using Euro codes
March 10th, 2014
On 8-9 March 2014 Epoka University Civil Engineering Department together with Future Engineers Club organized a workshop for the civil engineering department students, on the practical implementation of Euro codes in the structural design process of a real building. Students from third, fourth year of bachelor and students from master classes participated in this event.
This workshop was organized in the framework of the memorandum of understanding between Universal Construction Company and Epoka University. The seminars and trainings were referred from the representative of the above mentioned company MSc. Endri Zhuleku a very experienced and skillful engineer in different disciplines of civil engineering.
This workshop aimed to provide our civil engineering students overall information regarding the design of ordinary reinforced concrete buildings. On behalf of this training Euro codes were treated as contemporary technical design conditions, which are being rapidly implemented in Albania. In this context the design of an existing 3 floors reinforced concrete building was modeled step by step in Sap2000 v16 and detailed with AutoCAD 2015.
It was a very beneficial activity for the students, who were also supplied with the lecture notes prepared by Mr. Zhuleku and a Certificate of Participation.
